Mt. Biking: Burrington Combe, Mendips Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: 28C Sea Temperature: Weather: hot & sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Met up with the guys from Bristol Mountain Biking Club for the 1st time
for a pretty strenuous (for me!) ride around the Mendips.
These guys are seriously fit & I was bringing up the rear most of the time.
No problems though - they all regroup & wait for the tail-enders, and also
great for giving little hints and tips - like "This next descent is
*really* steep, narrow & full of boulders"! I now know to park the rear
wheel up my backside on these descents! That's why they all took to
lowering their saddles before these descents.
Although I had to scramble up some of the climbs and down some of the
descents, I felt I did pretty good - despite exceeding my theoretical max
heart rate on a couple of occasions.
